A MOMENT SPENT ALONE DOING SOMETHING YOU ENJOYED

I looked to my left, then to my right and buried my face into my hands.  There was a staggering amount of homework, just too much for me to cope in only one day.  Just thinking about my mother’s furious face and the scolding that will come next made me shudder.

“Alright, calm down”.  I reassured myself, trying to keep composed.  However, it was to no avail.  My mind was already bombarded with too many Mathematical figures and symbols.  Try as hard I might to force myself to continue doing the assessment worksheets, a wave of drowsiness soon swept over me.  Well, just think yourself bored stiff and lethargic, it is very hard to put yourself in my shoes, don’t you think so?

Left with no other choices, I got up and walked to the piano in the living room, my best relieve for stress.  (It works most of the time!)  Picking out a piece of score from my file, I played the song “Only Love”, music and lyrics both by Dave Pickell and Ron Irving.  After playing the soothing song, I felt more relaxed as the music washed over me and I continued playing the piano.  I belted out three more songs and felt more and more at ease. I always thoroughly enjoyed my time spent on playing the piano.  The songs were my favorites, so the time is considered well spent.  After that, I could continue doing my work with a lighter head on my shoulders.  Hopefully, I will not be scolded…
